The professional Interior
Designer is qualified by education, experience and examination
to enhance the function and quality of interior spaces for the
purpose of improving quality of life, increasing productivity
and protecting the health, safety and welfare of the public.
The Long Beach City College Interior Design Program
provides a career oriented approach to learning. Practicing Interior
Designers and Architects direct the educational process with
relevant Interior Design projects, field trips, guest speakers
and the opportunity for student competition. It is our goal
to prepare the Interior Design student major for ID experience/internship
and NCIDQ examination.
The field of Interior Design has become a realm of specializations including:
Space Planning, Residential Design, Contract Design, Hospitality, etc. Our
program provides the educational preparation needed for the practice of Interior
Design at various levels or the transfer option to a 4 year Interior Design
program.
